MEMORIAL DAY 2012

All the clan was present on Monday, May 28, 2012 (Memorial Day) at Lynne and Sherman Shewmaker's home in Maplewood, MO to celebrate the birthdays of Brooke, Lynne, and Scott.  (We learned at the end of the celebration that Sarah's birthday was just a week from Monday.....so it was a celebration of her birthday too).

After eating the BBQ ribs, hot dogs, potato salad, cole slaw, chips, deviled eggs, all washed down with Dr. Pepper, ginger ales, water, or wine, and finished off with Brooke's apple pie and vanilla ice cream.....all in buffet-style, it was time to bring out the cake and sing "happy birthday" with Naomi providing most of the puffs to extinguish the candles.........

 

Afterwards, presents were opened; then we had a chance to check out Naomi's blue water shoes up close...........

 

as well as Gloria's beautiful ruffled pants...........

 

 Then we just had time to hang about and enjoy each other's company.  Seth and Sarah........

............Audrey, Scott, and Cleo as Cleo plays a video game.........

 

............the Three Amigos.........Gloria, Naomi, and Cleo..........Cleo tries to introduce her cousins to the game "I Spy...." but they were probably a little too young yet to understand the intricacies of the game...........

 

Gloria enjoyed exploring the front steps on her own.......

Then we all moved to the back deck to spend a little quality time with Lily who, up till now, had been sequestered in the back yard because of her bad habits of licking little ones in the face and sometimes knocking them over in her excitement..........

And all of this was being observed by the lame old Patriarch...........
